PARKING

Its not great to park in our neighborhood. Please remember that we are just outside of NYC. During the day it’s pretty easy, but after 6pm you are going to need to drive around a bit. You must have a pass to park overnight and to leave your car longer then 4 hours during the day. Below is the overnight pay station locations. The library is the closest one to our house. It’s across the street during the renovation.

Tips: Make sure you pay attention to driveways, street cleaning signs and allowed parking rules. Always find the parking sign and read and understand the rules before you leave your car. Sometimes there is only one sign per block so pay attention. If you can’t find one, don’t think you are safe. You may be better off finding a place that does have a sign so you know for a fact who is allowed to park there. It sucks but it’s possible, you just need determination, the ability to parallel park and an eye to spend the least amount of money. Also I take solace that my neighboorhood isn’t near as bad as Hobokon with street parking. Man that place is a chore to find parking. Also it beats the 40-60$ a day that NYC hotels charge!
